At 06:12 local time, the western ridge cast a shadow toward the sun. Our instruments agreed. The four observers did not.
We walked out after breakfast because the pressure seal had started singing again. Not loudly—nothing dramatic—just the thin domestic whistle of a kettle left in another room. Nia carried the spectrum recorder. I carried coffee and the old survey cards.

The structure occupies the same coordinates marked as empty in every orbital pass. Direct sight gives it a height of perhaps thirty metres. Peripheral sight makes it taller. Cameras return a pale vertical absence, something closer to an overexposed doorway than a building.
At 08:40 we tested the simplest explanation: that the plain was reflecting a distant formation. We turned our backs for one minute. When we looked again, the structure had moved nine metres closer to camp.

The shadow test is the useful part. Did the recorder capture the delay before the structure returned?
In the RU field copy, ‘structure’ is plural. Is that a translation error or a second sighting?
